Did not understand my Over-the-Counter benefits this year.
I was thinking, same as last year: $200/year benefit. Redeemable by 12/31/2021.
Instead, for 2 persons (our own separate policies), we lost $750 in quarterly benefits.
Just redeemed $125 each in OTC products, coming our way in 10-14 days.
Way too much was going on. So glad this year is almost over.
I've got my own reminders covered by a huge desk top calendar, hard copy, pen and paper style.
Now that I know the plan, (quarterly), I can do it. Once for me, and again for my dH.
Reading all that insurance paperwork was just too overwhelming in 2021.
My reason for posting was to remind others who have this benefit. And yes, others who do not even know they may have the OTC benefit. It happens.
Actually reading the plan helps, if you understand it.
BTW, I had to call 3 times. One representative said it was too late to order after Dec. 20th. But the phone recording, and the printed materials all said order before 12/31/2021. So, I called back rather than press on to convince her differently. That is only one reason I really dislike calling the insurance companies. (health insurance AND car insurance).
Thank you for your suggestions that will help me and others!
