I think we all need some sort of travelling respite care

Question

If we could find people who would (out of compassion and caring) offer to come and give us some precious time -- maybe a week to 10 days.
A once only thing. A network of volunteers that might do this for us would be wonderful.
Does anyone know anything like this or do we need to start this on our own. Could we do a crowdfunding campaign to start this service?
Could we do it? God knows .... we NEED it!
Anyone in on this or does anyone know anything like this? What country?

In the US I think it would be next to impossible to get volunteers to stay with an elder for that length of time.  I can't imagine the elder would be happy with it. and I would be leary of having volunteers staying their home or mine.  We used nursing home that offered respite care.  It was expensive; $280.00 a day.  Occasionally, we took them with along with us to the beach along with  a lady they knew who would sit with them if we wanted to go out in the evening. We just rented a bigger house with extra bedrooms and bath rooms. When they were in college, our sons would stay with them.
