Greetings. New studies are coming out on Alzheimer’s everyday. This study I believe, is the most extensive of its kind and I thought I would share it with you.
The socio-economic factors need much more study. Lower education, lower income, housing insecurity etc increasing Alzeimer's Disease is not really a surprise. These factors may increase many other diseases too.
Does stress on the body or brain alone cause increase of disease?
Or other associated factors, eg : lower education means less earning potention : lower income being a barrier to medical treatment, specialists & medication : higher housing instability & food insecurity influencing homelife & potential for childhood neglect
Even just the simple fact of more junk food + less exercise = obesity + risk of numerous diseases.
That new drug is mentioned on Australian Dementia.org to possibly help slow Alz for 10-20% of people dx with mild cognitive impairement. So helpful. But not a miracle cure. Side effects of small brain bleeds are mentioned as a known risk & are concerning.
A healthy diet, regular exercise & staying socially connected seem to be the only possible things we can do for ourselves. 😊
