Leaves....ah leaves..... I enjoyed a moment last week...I was stressing out with mom, she was fingerpainting with lunch rather than eating it....I felt myself getting frustrated so I just went out back and grabbed a chair, placed it in the middle of the yard facing the bright sun we had that day and just sat out there for a good twenty minutes. with the tiny leaves of my shady tree falling all over me with each gust of the light breeze! it was strangely refreshing, like a dry snow. And yesterday I grabbed the dogs and walked them up n down our street. just to get out and away for a minute....
Well mom got her cast off last week and Has gained a few pounds, which makes me happy as she is so thin!
Haven't been on much just cause have nothing to say or offer, I am cashed out right now!! I am struggling right now as I have mentioned before....... cant wait to get on the healthcare program at the first of the year! Hopefully can get some therapy and meds (at an affordable price). having no family, immediate or extended. the loneliness is a bitch, I get so stir crazy all by myself all the time. I guess I do miss that part of my old friends, at least I had someone closeby to drop in on for a quick visit (they never drop in here) but I could get out for an hour or two.....
Anyway hanging by a thread.....construction rebuild mite actually get started this week but today I am a mess....got a nasty cold! Just got back from store stocking up on a Dayquil/Nyquil dual pack....I wanted my Theraflu but could not find it here in town...someone sed they don't sell it anymore. anyway I am pretty miserable but no fever or flu sofar. praying mom doesn't get it as I still have to feed n change her and we are confined into one room together all day n night! what I wouldn't give for someone to take over for me for a day or two right now! DREAMING!!!! Juju
Mame It is probably the time to think about placement and if you think it is time go to visit a lot of them so you get a good idea what they are all about and to be able to see which is best for her-it is best to choose one close to where you live.
Hey Jen! You and I have similar taste in music! Love, love, love Dan Fogelberg! Bobbie is right, you are more important than this situation and I too hope that you realize that and that your survival instinct kicks in and saves you. Bobbie-we all need to hear this! Thank you! Hello to Austin & Meanwhile, Cuz-chip monks...too funny...Sharyn-a picnic! What a great idea. My drug of choice is Christmas Movies these days. Always a happy ending. I also painted my hallway. It was a lot of work and I am worn out but I am happy it is done. I feel like I am coming down with a cold and there is no time for that! Mom sees the hand Dr today...not sure what he can do for her contracted fingers. They effect EVERYTHING she does. Gone to sponge bathing only cause she cannot stand herself up off the tub chair in our shower....she can't get her hands around the hand rails to pull herself up and I have to be in the tub to help lift her and one of us is going to get hurt... my shoulders and back are aching from all the lifting. And bro comes to visit and witnesses one of her vagal responses (seizures as I call them) and says, "at what point is it too much to keep her here at home?" Like it is such an easy decision even with all the problems! And yes, I think about it! I keep thinking that today's appt with the Dr about her hands may answer some questions I myself have about how long I can continue. I don't know what I will do if she goes into NH...prob be there all the time and still be miserable-seeing her there and feeling guilty. Gonna wait till after todays dr visit and then the holidays to make any decisions. HA! I mean decisions about her going elsewhere-as every day is a decision to keep caring for her here! Never a quiet moment in my head. I am rambling...please forgive me. Wondering how all the people in the Midwest are holding up. Scary storms. We just had wind here last night but no bigy in comparison...just scary after hearing what happened out west. The pictures of the devastation are unbelievable. Praying for all of them in the path! Well, I hope everyone has a decent week. Take care all! Mame
Austin, my mother has been angry as long as I can remember. Don't have a clue as to why. My father treated her like a Queen, and so does my step father. I hate to call my mother an ungrateful @##$$, but she is.
Hmn listening to Soft Rock here...I have not listened to music in years any more...It is so strange. Ah America, Seals and Crofts, Bread, I love Dan Fogelberg...Didn't know he died...The Seventies seems like a million years ago now...
Hang in there dear Jen cause ther is a light at the end of the tunnel even though it has been a long road so far. Hang in there cause we all love you even from a distance. Hugs to you. luvCuz
I agree, got to get out as much as possible...I scraped up leaves yesterday enjoyed the cool and fresh air and catching leaves as they fell off the trees along the side of the garage. Someday it will be over...That is about all I can hope for... Hooot haw ha whaaaaa!!! he cackles from his hole...God, soon please. Jen
Jen! Meanwhile is right! Please try to get out of the house even if you have to steal some of fp money to take yourself to the movies or out to the IHOP. Take that fp's cash! help yourself because you have to put yourself first in order to survive this! Please Jen!
I hope you post soon and tell us that you took some cash and gave yourself a spa day. Something!
Jen you are more important than this situation and I hope that you realize that and your survival instinct kicks in and saves you.
Dear Jen, wish you were sitting on a nice beach somewhere. Winter must be harder, the house closed up, and less fresh air and sunshine. Can you get outside at all? Even just a 5 minute walk might make you feel better. Worried about you..
More horror tales from those of us suffering from the out come of "Life at any Cost"... Suicidally depressed here, so have not posted have little interest in anything anymore...Email, don't get to, even slack off on pen pals...It is just a misery. Here's an actual "Grossed Moment"...He spits in the garbage by him at dinner misses wipe sit off with his finger goes back to eating with his hand after it has been on the garbage can lid...Yes, fine, catch something die...He has not used the toilet in a week, and I don't mean he is not "going"... He still leers at me across the table the nights I feel too guilty to avoid being at the table, I look to his right and pray he dies every moment... Modern Medicine, Family love/guilt...My mom had to have her high blood pressure medication increased...again... God when will he die?
THIS MAY COME AS A SURPRISE TO THOSE OF YOU NOT LIVING IN LAS VEGAS, BUT THERE ARE MORE CATHOLIC CHURCHES THAN CASINOS.
NOT SURPRISINGLY, SOME WORSHIPERS AT SUNDAY SERVICES WILL GIVE CASINO CHIPS RATHER THAN CASH WHEN THE BASKET IS PASSED.
SINCE THEY GET CHIPS FROM MANY DIFFERENT CASINOS, THE CHURCHES HAVE DEVISED A METHOD TO COLLECT THE OFFERINGS.
THE CHURCHES SEND ALL THEIR COLLECTED CHIPS TO A NEARBY FRANCISCAN MONASTERY FOR SORTING AND THEN THE CHIPS ARE TAKEN TO THE CASINOS OF ORIGIN AND CASHED IN.
THIS IS DONE BY THE CHIP MONKS.
YOU DIDN'T EVEN SEE IT COMING DID YOU?
It’s so easy to fool ole folks!!! Now it's your turn to tag someone else!
Mame if turning on the lights make you happy-just do it-others may like to see them early also. Meanwhile -it is amazing how some people wast so much of their life being upset at small stuff-I see it every day-it seems to be the norm here in NY.
A friend of mine is staying the winter at a state park in Arizona. She posted that a cold front is coming in will, get down to 85 degrees tomorrow. Must be tough. Renters are moving out of my house in town. They left behind new looking mop, broom, and toilet brushes. I can see why, they obviously haven't a clue on how to use any of those items. Yesterday at the dentist office, a 91 year old lady walked in. She didn't have an appointment, because she is too deaf to talk on the phone, (she has been a patient there for 25 years). So I took her back to the exam room for the Doctor to look at her broken tooth. He patched it up for her, which took all of 15 minutes. The patient that was scheduled was absolutely incensed. Tried to explain we don't usually do that sort of thing, but because of the ladies age and so forth, but she didn't care. She was furious. I told her to try going across the street to the MD, wouldn't matter what time her appointment was, would have to wait 2 hours to see the Dr. Everyone stay warm, and take care. Love Shirley
Still here...still reading...going thru the "emotion of the day" here! But it is subsiding a bit. Mom is whiney cause her contracted fingers are really hurting. Visiting nurses are in place with really just OT. They massaged her hands and made a soft little pillow thing (not a pillow I just can't think of a word to describe it correctly)to put under to keep them from getting more contracted. She wears it for 20 min 3x a day. She is in a lot of pain today from doing it yesterday. Poor thing. She sees the Ortho/hand specialist next week. She asked me today if he is going to cut her fingers off!!! She is a worrier! I told her no, that maybe shots of cortisone...or may be a tendon release....but she can't go under anesthesia so only if it can be done with a local. So, we will see! She had her weird mole removed...I can't remem what I posted last... All is fine from that but they are going to do a biopsy of it. Just to make sure. The site is healing nicely. It's always something! Everybody stay warm! Cold here and pretty snow on the ground. The dog loves it! Husband went off the road last night but luckily he and the car are ok. We always wait too long to put on the snow tires! Gonna be 50 degrees this weekend so I am going to put the Christmas lights up on the house-but don't worry-I won't turn them on! Yet! Keep on posting-please! I need you! Love ya! Mame
how about spitting meat out of her mouth onto her plate.....so her dog will have smaller bites? I can handle it...somewhat...but my husband? not so much....thanks for sharing.........
Mom is good, taking her on a little picnic tomorrow. It's in the 70's during the day but cold at night. Gearing up for the holidays. Hope you all are doing well health wise and hanging in there with the caregiving. Take care all!!
Hey you guys! I am still here! We are getting another cold NorthEast blow and the boat is pinned to the dock again. The cold wind comes in the doors and we are sitting here with our feet on a little heater and swilling hot coffee... Ahhh... Boat Life haha.
I haven't been writing and I'm sorry. Will try and do better if you guys are going to be around!
You are right Cuz where did everyone go -it is lonely on Gross. We got our first snow here in the Lower Hudson Valley-just on the grass and it is in the 20's this am.
ptg you're right. I must stop obsessing about seeking and destroying soggy used tissues - though mother even hoarded them inside the plaster case on her broken wrist, for heaven's sake! - before my sister calls me "The Tissue Nazi" again.
There is nothing wrong with being grossed out. It happens. Sometimes, you just have to let them be the way they are and let go. The more you hold on to, the more it will bother you. There could be even more grosser instances that you may have to deal with. It is upto you how you are going to deal with it. :)
Very Funny Cuz, thanks. I have a party to go to tonight. A friend of ours moved here from Germany about 20 years ago. Some friends of his from Germany come here every year for their vacation. Really nice couple. Took them on a short trail ride last year. It's their 10 year anniversary, so Harry is throwing them a party. Should be fun. Indio will probably get his guitar out and sing a few songs for them. I'm probably a little biased, but I love to hear Indio sing.
This came from our dear Anne in Ireland so I had to pass it along.
Screams of Passion
The Italian fellow said: "Last night I massaged my wife all over her body with the finest olive oil, then we made passionate love and I made her scream, non-stop for five minutes."
The Frenchman said: "Last night I massaged my wife all over her body with special aphrodisiac oil, and then we made passionate love. I made her scream for fifteen minutes straight." The Irishman said: That's nothing!!!. Last night I massaged my wife ,you know, all over her body with a special butter. I caressed her entire body with the butter, and then made love and I made her scream for two long hours."
The Italian and Frenchman, astonished, asked, "Two full hours ?....wow that's phenomenal ! How did you do it to make her scream for two hours? The Irishman replied "I wiped my hands on the curtains."
Hey Mame, It took me awhile to clear myself of the anti depressant and anti anxiety meds. It's been a year now and I am a lot better and not so sad. You are in a tough spot because the cause of your sadness is still there yet, like Shirley says, you are brave and fighting to find your joy. Coming out of the med fog is hard and it can be done but please take it easy on yourself.
Shirley! I am not that great a shot. I chased that mouse and it took 5 shots. I knew that I couldn't keep that up so went a different route with the D-Con. Shooting a mouse with a .223 is nuts. It made me look at Mickey Mouse in a whole new light. I still can't understand why people worship a rodent who craps where it eats.
Jen! How are you doing tonight? Cuz! Hope Mike is doing better.
Can't sleep tonight so I am up here and I think I will watch some Deadliest Catch on Netflix and see if I can learn more about boats. Miss ol Captain Phil.
