I just wanted to say how helpful this Site was to mom & I.
I lost mom on May 19th @1:20 pm it was the hardest thing I have ever done , I haven’t been able to write until now in the month before she passed away we went to ER 4 times on the ride to the hospital mom leaned on my shoulder and she spoke in Apache to me and said son I’m tired let me go now. I didn’t reply I just hugged her in the ER. They did some tests admitted her. While we were in her room she motioned me over and said I love you son. I said I love you mom and it was over. My life will never be the same.
thank you all
It is one of the most difficult things we go through in this life. I know.
I will keep you in my prayers.
God can heal all hurts, and give us strength and comfort.
Look to HIM for healing
Big Hug
It will forever change you but just try to keep thinking of the happy memories you had with her. Hugs!
Your life won't be the same without her, but it also won't be the same because of what I suspect you learned from this wise woman throughout your life. Think of those aspects, of the life you shared, of what you learned from her, and focus on those benefits and insights.
Are you in contact with other Apaches or Native Americans in general? If so, I think it might be helpful to continue your bonds with them throughout this tumultuous period. They'll offer strength; they deal with life and death differently from whites, and are much more practical and realistic.
I do wish you peace as you travel this new journey.
It's so hard to lose someone you love so much. You are right: losing them changes you forever. Wishing you peace and comfort in your dear mom's memory.
“Grief never ends…but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith…it is the price of love.” – Author Unknown
Your life won’t be as it was before but I feel she would want you to be at peace.
It will get easier. Take time to mourn. She knew you loved her. She will live in your heart forever.
