Sorry to say, but this site has been so depressing for a few days. I thought I'd ask an average, everyday question....to make us all feel a little more normal today.
I made Eggplant Lasagna, and my BIL and SIL are coming for dinner. They leave for Cali tomorrow to see their beautiful grand daughter.
Sorry, sometimes we just need some REGULAR conversation.......or at least THIS caregiver does.
Example: yesterday I ate 2 broken waffle cones with a protein shake for lunch. Hah!
Breakfast for dinner always works.
Psue, it is good to see you posting, nothing wrong with your sandwich, good protein and grains.
nacy - feels like everything is going up in price.
psue - glad to hear from you and that you are eating - protein shakes are good. Hope dh is doing better.
itrr - sounds tasty! I like breakfast for dinner any time,
I miss the farm eggs since R moved from the old place to Mike's farm. But he is thinking of keeping some chickens there. Yay!!!
We are talking about getting some, i just paid 7.49 a dozen and was happy they had them.
I knew when that expensive spray came out it was a money making marketing fraud. Because Dawn is such a great product they have to find ways to make more money, shame.
But, thanx for the recipe.
Pan fried salmon here with lots of lemon and pepper and a simple green salad. This afternoon I made a huge pot of chicken veg pasta soup. R can take some to the farm. It's a meal in a bowl type of soup and great for someone working outside in this cold winter weather.
I never get tired of cooking, I get tired of cleaning up the mess I make cooking.
My fortune cookie says
“ Success is getting up just one more time than you fall down . “
At first I took the “ fall down “ literally .
I guess my mind went there because we are waiting for MIL to fall down again . 🙄🙄.
🍫🍫❄️❄️🍫🍫
way - makes sense - like waiting for the other shoe to drop
nacy - never heard that before. Hope your back gets better soon.
boj - sounds very comforting
That's what my Mother used to say to us....and if we said we couldn't do something, she always said to say to ourselves"I think I can ".(like in The Little Red Engine book).
So,
Thanks for the reminder waytomisery and
I'm sorry you and your MIL fell.Falls are evil and do so much damage ,all over,so quick~
Bread pudding for dessert. I haven't made one in years. It was a little bland so next time I will jazz it up with more fruit, more spices and maybe a little maple syrup. R said his mother used to make it with molasses.
Coffee cake for the weekend is in the oven . Kids are coming up this weekend to take me out for 60th birthday dinner at my favorite place .. No cooking tomorrow .
I will, no doubt, end up with enough leftovers of the leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
I feel ya cwillie! :-)
Love leftovers.
Everyone's food sounds so good!
Ribs tonight with baked potato with all the trimmings for R, and salad for both of us.
Thanks !!
Thanks.
That was sweet of your son to walk behind you .
That's nice that your son helped you like that. You've got good kids.
@waytomisery
Happy Birthday, my friend. I hope you have the best one ever!
Coating your chicken in that made it crispy.
Baking is always better than frying (or deep-frying) your chicken. That is bad for you.
Counting the calories and the price at any fast foods causes my b/p to raise, but I get even hungrier. We're out and about doing errands, and the need to eat strikes me. Now, we just go straight home instead of trying 3 fast foods places-the lines are too long; the place is too dirty; the price is too much.
Bought a steak and shared it at home for $20.00. On a salad made it
'Steak Diane'.
Fast food would have been $30.
Splurging is buying packaged shredded carrots and shredded cabbage to add to the lettuce salad at home, making preparation quicker than fast foods. And making the salad dressing from scratch will save lots. (And it was good.)
