Sorry to say, but this site has been so depressing for a few days. I thought I'd ask an average, everyday question....to make us all feel a little more normal today.
I made Eggplant Lasagna, and my BIL and SIL are coming for dinner. They leave for Cali tomorrow to see their beautiful grand daughter.
Sorry, sometimes we just need some REGULAR conversation.......or at least THIS caregiver does.
Baked salmon, mashed potatoes, carrots and peas, homemade apple pie and coffee.
So sorry that you lost your dad so early in life.
That's a heartbreaking story - I thought he had passed away but, that - well there just are no words for what happened to you and your family. Especially, being only 20 and painfully shy.
Abandonment hurts.
I had no idea you lost your dad when you were so young - that's sad and I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm so glad you have your dad with you and that he did it for you. That is so thoughtful of you to make his favorite dinner (which sounds great by the way). I bet that was a touching moment to see him and your husband compete to lick the frosting bowl - that made me smile. My mom always loved Red Velvet Cake - she's a Valentine's Day baby so I've made it for her birthday in the past. I sure hope he will be able to eat but, I know it will take some time for his appetite to return.
I'm glad he's spending time with all of you!
Awwwww, your dad is so blessed to have you in his life. I adored my dad and what I wouldn’t give to cook one more meal for him.
Your posting made me tear up. My dad died in 2002 and next to my husband he was the finest man I have ever known.
Daddy was a joy to be around. He provided a good life for my mom and his children and he lovingly taught me so much about life. He will live in my heart forever.
I was the apple of my father’s eye. He was strict, but fair. I have no doubt that you are so special to your dad, not to mention a fabulous cook, honey! I would eat at your house any day of the week.
Take care, Bridger and keep spreading your kindness. Your posts make me smile.
Greek yogurt is a sub for sour cream and mayonnaise. Make a trial desert to try. See if you like it. If you do, you can make it to bring and enjoy.
Plain Greek yogurt probably similar to sour cream. I would give it a try.
Lucky you! Is mom enjoying some too?
