Steve, I am a current client
AHC is the provider that was set up by North Shore Elder Services. We currently have a FANTASTIC aid who cares for my 92 year old father and treats him as his own father. The aid's father lives in another country and the aid has said that since he can't care for his own father he would treat my dad as his own. His actions over the past couple of years confirms that dedication. Unfortunately when the aid is not available because of vacations, etc. our experience has not been as good as it should be and required follow up with the provider. My advice is to work with the provider to get one reliable aid and develop a relationship with that aid by treating them with respect and dignity. A good aid is worth their weight in gold and don't get the recognition that they deserve. I believe the pool of aid workers is limited and that providers try to fill the positions but it is very challenging to them.
