About Catholic-Presbyterian Apartments

Catholic Presbyterian Apartments is a comprehensive retirement facility designed to provide an independent living environment for seniors of moderate to low income. Opened in 1972 with the promise of a comfortable, attractive lifestyle, the 195-unit complex has evolved into a community of friends and neighbors to become an integral part of downtown Baton Rouge. Our unique name might imply that it is owned and operated by the Catholic Diocese or First Presbyterian Church; however, Catholic Presbyterian Apartments is owned and operated by 655 North Street Limited Partnership. The only connection between the two churches is the non-profit management company, Catholic Presbyterian Apartments, Incorporated which is represented by six board members of each church, but the churches have no ownership or managerial duties regarding this facility.

Located on the edge of the Spanish Town Historic District and adjacent to the downtown Central Business District, our residents enjoy the peace and solitude of a quiet residential neighborhood while being within easy walking distance of the downtown churches, banks, library, shops, Market Place shopping, parks and cultural attractions.

The concept of “Independent Living for the Elderly” is maintained today with expanded and improved services offered to make living at Catholic Presbyterian Apartments more enjoyable, convenient and comfortable than ever before. Services and amenities include:
