Kathy, I am a past client
I would give Eaton Community Hospice staff a 5 star, the owner -1. During Covid, if you only want 1 person to be with dying family member this is the place. Owner threatened my mom, telling us she was doing mom a favor by allowing her in after seeing her get of car with her 2, 80+ year old sisters without masks. Said if she saw it again, she would not allow her in. Dad was down to final hours of life when we begged and pleaded to say our goodbyes. She wouldn't budge. She said it was Hospice rules, not true, said order came from Attorney General not true, finally admitted it wasn't state order, only her rule. Her and her husband made us feel like intruders there. Had to say my goodbye and hug my dead father on the front lawn because she wouldn't give us 30 lousy seconds inside without mask on, even one at a time in room. I have a pic of 2 nurses inside without mask in kitchen area during night while I camped out on the deck with 5 other family members. Had to bring our own port-a-potty as no bathroom available. Staff was caring and compassionate - not owner. Never said hello, never greeted us kindly. Staff did - she did not. I asked hospice to contact her for us, I asked Rick Jones, president of her board of directors - no one could get through to her. Staff was upset they couldn't allow us in.
