Senior Helpers of Long Beach, CA

In-Home Care Overview: Senior Helpers of Long Beach, CA

Senior Helpers of Long Beach is a locally owned and operated office within the nationally recognized Senior Helpers network. For over six years, we have served the Long Beach community by providing reliable, personalized, non-medical in-home care that supports seniors in remaining safe and independent at home.

Senior Helpers has been a national leader in in-home senior care since 2002, serving tens of thousands of families across the country with dependable and consistent care.

Our care is built around a proactive, data-informed, client-centered approach.

Before services begin, our Client Services Director conducts an in-home Life Profile® Assessment, an exclusive, evidence-based tool that evaluates physical, cognitive, and emotional health and estimates hospitalization risk within the next six months.

We continue this proactive model by:
● Reassessing every three months and after hospitalization or major health changes
● Updating care plans as needs evolve
● Maintaining ongoing communication with clients and families

This ensures care remains appropriate, responsive, and personalized over time.

Senior Helpers of Long Beach operates a Center of Excellence where caregivers receive hands-on training before working independently with clients.

All caregivers:
● Are employed directly by our agency (not independent contractors)
● Are licensed, bonded, insured, and covered by workers’ compensation
● Meet California HCA requirements
● Pass Live Scan background checks
● Are TB tested and CPR certified

In addition, we offer free training at our Center of Excellence for family members and friends who are caring for a loved one at home. This allows caregivers to learn safe techniques, best practices, and dementia-informed approaches to improve quality of care and reduce caregiver stress.

Our caregivers receive specialized training through:
Senior Gems® — a Senior Helpers program focused on dementia care from normal aging through late-stage dementia. Caregivers are trained to:
● Recognize characteristics of each stage
● Understand abilities at each “gem level”
● Apply stage-specific strategies
● Develop long-term, individualized care plans

Parkinson’s Care Program — specialized training for caregivers supporting seniors living with Parkinson’s disease.
These programs allow us to provide effective, appropriate support as conditions progress.

We offer:
● Flexible scheduling
● Care plans tailored to routines, preferences, and goals
● Ongoing adjustments as client needs change

Our goal is to support independence, dignity, safety, and peace of mind for both clients and families.

Senior Helpers of Long Beach is committed to delivering dependable, compassionate, and professionally managed in-home care through strong relationships, individualized planning, and continuous quality improvement.
