Your husband is not "hiding things" but is putting things where he doesn't remember and then is accusing others of taking them.
His brain is broken and he can't help what he does or doesn't do.
I hope you're educating yourself about this horrible disease of dementia as that will help you better prepare for the future, although if you've seen one person with dementia you've only seen one person with dementia.
If your husband in fact has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's(which is only one of many types of dementia)then his life expectancy is about 10-20 years as Alzheimer's is the slowest progressing of all of the dementias, so it's often hard to tell what stage one is in with Alzheimer's.
I wish you well as you take this very difficult journey with your husband.

Paranoia is actually common to all stages and may be one of the first signs of dementia. This thing of people taking my "stuff" is often a first clue.

As to Stages, you should do a bit of internet self-teaching, as the computer is definitely your friend. Your favorite search engine (Google? Bing") and the words "Stages of Dementia" will be just a wealth of information for you to study.

"Stages of Dementia and Symptoms to Watch in Each - AgingCare.com" is also available to you on this very site. Go to the timeline and just to the left of your avatar you will see a magnifying glass. Click on that brings you to search. Click on that and type in the "Stage of Dementia" and you will find an article with a nifty list.

Do remember, your loved one is as individual as his own thumbprint. Things don't follow a certain trajectory, though in general the direction is downward.
Good luck.
