My mother falls and injures herself often despite training caregivers who are there 24hours a day.
I'm concerned that my loyal caregives may get injured as my mother's disease gets worse and she continues to fall and get injured. I told all the caregivers if they feel the risk of injury is too high then they need to think about whether taking care of my mother is worth it. All of them want to keep taking care of her. I've read that if a caregiver is injured, the client s resonsible to pay all medical bills and loss of pay. What can we do? I'm not sure the homeowners policy covers them ...enough. I'm really worried that caregiver injury could wipe-out mothers small remaining savings, causing us to send her to institutional care.
