What is the term legal guardian mean in the state of Washington? If I have Power of Attorney for my mother does this also appoint me as

her guardian? I will need to start making some medical care decisions for her in the near future and need to know my bounderies. Will I be able to make decisions regarding legal matters such as her personal safety and welfare, her money and financial liabilities? Again this is in Washington state.
Also what is the yearly limitation for her to give a gift of money to either children or grandchildren in this state? Does this gift affect the 2006 Medicaid rules?
