Is there a checklist of some sort that will enable me to compare different nursing homes?

I was wondering if there is a checklist I can use when comparing nursing homes for my mother. I want to get her into a place that will not abuse her. I need a place that will treat her with dignity, respect, and caring. She will need to rehabilitate after surgery. Can't deal with uncaring and unloving staff. Please advice. Thank you so much.
