My grandfather is 94 years old and is having some health problems. He has lost 35lbs in 4 months, his blood count dropped from 11.6 to 8.2 in five months. he had blood in the stool, stomach pain, lower back pain, loss of appetite, can hardly walk, cannot have a bowel movement without laxatives. He is tired a lot and his current doctor is not a geriatric doctor. He had Medicare, is a WWII vet. his current doctor wants to do a colonoscopy, but most of the family doesn't want it and some of the family do. Would like to know how to find a Geriatric doctor and want to know if a colonoscopy is needed and if not what other treatments can be used instead.

About the colonoscopy: "most of the family doesn't want it and some of the family do." What does your grandfather want? After all, it's his body.
