Has anyone gone through or taken their parent through a full Alzheimer's diagnosis and legal appraisal of competency?

I'd like to know, has anyone gone thru or taken there parent through a full diagnosis and legal appraisal of competency?

I find that the medical system and legal system seem to throw-the-ball back and forth in their evaluations. In other words, unless one gets a doctor, lawyer and judge to make the total competency evaluation together on the same day for the same exact issue, it's always in question.

Any opinion by the doctor -- can be challenged by a legal lawyer opinion. Any opinion by a lawyer -- can be challenged with a request for a medical opinion. And so the buck not only goes round and round, it costs the person a lot of cash!
