Anyone heard of June 15 as being "World Elder Abuse Day"?

Dr. Laura Mosqueda, from the university of California at Irvine wrote to Dear Abby. The column was in the June 15, 2010 paper.

She wrote:" On this day, communities all over the world will sponsor events to shed light on the growing and tragic issue of elder abuse." The article went on to describe the problem. The website for more information is www.centeronelderabuse.org.
