Lisag47, Well this is the simplest form of a very long and complicated answer. Yes and no. 1) Is your mother the vetern or is she using husbands beniffits? In any in case you must make sure she is allowed VA benifitts. 2.) In order to be paid as a caregiver you must be certified by the VA. This may require classes, ie.. must be trained on how to take BP, trained on how to properly give baths, this is just a few things they will require, mb more. 3) Make appt w/ her primary (VA doctor) he can guide you to the resources you need. My father has a VA social worker who is wonderful and help as much as he can. VA is very slow so don't get discouraged and let them know you will be checking in with them they will move faster if they know someoneis watching. I hope this helps! Good Luck and GB
