What is a safe dosage of valium to calm down an agitated senior with dementia?

That would depend on many factors from age and weight to other health issues. If you are worried the doctor may not be right in the medication, you might want to get a second opinion just to put your mind at ease.

My MIL was on the lowest dose of practically all of the medications she took. She is 79 yrs. old. ...but, yes, read and heed Carol's comment.
