My mother with dementia is getting a new caregiver. What are some ways we can make it a smooth transition from the old caregiver to the new caregiver?

My mother have a male caregiver now who took care of her and my dad for awhile now but my dad pass away 2 weeks ago and we want my mom to have a female caregiver. We have found one but I want to know how to have a smooth transition from the old caregiver to the new one. Thanks
