Usually only after a hospital stay. A social worker will evaluate the patient then recommend services for varying lenghts of time. I was not too impressed with their services...they seem more concerned with billing the maximum hours than caring for my Mom. But, you may have a different experience. Other than that, no in-home care is available on a regular basis that I know of. I have a paid in-home caregiver come in once a month to give us a break. It is well worth it and you can choose the person that you want. good luck
