My 87 year old mom won't stop talking. Will this get worse as she gets older?

Mom talked a lot her entire life, likely due to family stress from childhood.
But now at 87 she talks about every detail in her families life. Will this keep getting worse as she gets older? Is there anything I can do. She is driving my sister crazy.
