Thanks for the comment, the Cook Stop looks like an interesting and useful product. However unlike the Stove Alarm/Stove Guard it does not detect the possibility of a potential fire or react to other alarms (smoke, CO2 etc). The Stove Guard also has intelligent cooking and allows useage of the stove unattended for a time period when if no cooking activity is detected, it will shut the cooker supply off. Any product that helps prevent fires in the kitchen must be a good thing and these are two different ways of approaching it.
Would one of the experts on AC talk about spousal refusual-all the years when my husband was ill and spending much time in rehabs with him and knowing some day he might have to go to a nursing home and meeting with elder lawyers and more social workers than I can remember I only found out about this at a meeting of our local AARP group-this seems to be kept very quiet and could make a big difference for a spouse and give them more money to live on-I live in N.Y. State.
The stove reminder is a simple device that is inexpensive, easy to install and enables cooking. While the stove is on it provides an audio alert every ten minutes which calls the cooker's attention back to the cooking task or alerts anyone else in the home that the stove is on.
