If she is still aware of whats going on and doesn't have dementia ask her what she wants to do. If she wants to do it maybe there is a legal thing where she has to gift you the money? If the main problem is that she is loosing her eyesite you would want to make sure that the add on to your house is modyfied so she can work her way around and not get hurt. No stairs. Bright lights. Stuff like that. There is something on this site about that kind of thing. I saw it earlier because my dad had a stroke and has what they are calling low vision from it. I had to take up the rugs and put big stripes of yellow tape along the edges of the doorways so he knows where he is.
