If dentures were lost in nursing home who is financially responsible?

I would think the nursing home would be responsible they have insurance for those things and the staff has to be aware that most people there has dentures and should have standards in place, My MIL threw away her hearing aide and admitted it-first she broke it and it was fixed-she did not want to have to be responsible for anything so she did not want to hear what was said to her.
