What is causing you the stress? is it his physical/mental condition? is he verbally abusive or just obstinate? did he just move in? Your priorities as a caregiver is to see that your father is safe and getting the care he needs. That does not mean that you need to be at his beck and call. Respect is a two-way street. If he does not adhere to the household rules, try to get some distance. Can a family member take him once and awhile? Can you have a paid caregiver come in to give you guys a break? Growing old is no picnic, but it doesn't mean that you have to put up with bad behavior. good luck
