Thanks JollyJ. I will look for the pamphlet, 11th Hour . My mother had a very bad day and night so I called the doctor's office and asked them to call hospice. Hospice came and put her on oxygen right away. Apparently she was having a-fib part of the time. I think she had a slight stroke also. She has rallied but feels extremely tired. Going this alone into uncharted waters was getting stressful. Thank you for your help.
Is your mother ill in addition to the AD or is it a natural progression? I have been told that as the end draws near, the hands and feet turn very dark from blood pooling due to lack of pressure. There's a pamphet called the 11th Hour that talks about what to expect but a lot of it seems geared to end of life caused by something else, like cancer.
My daddy had AD but died of complications of kidney infection. He was already end stage Alzheimer's, not talkiing, in a fetal position in bed, stopped eating and taking fluids, blood pressure dropped. The passing was peaceful.
