Why is it after all these years and my mom is becoming dependent and the past of neglect for us kids are starting to come out?

My issues resulted in traumatic flash backs from what I call the fuzzy part of my memory from late childhood through adolescence. The bad news was having to work through all of that. The good news is that I dealt with it. The best news is that my wife and I are now closer.

Unresolved family or origin issues often surface when a parent declines. I know that mine did and became the focus on my therapy sessions for several years.
