What can I do legally against my brother who emptied out my mother’s place?

apartment-where we all grew up-and i had things there-and he never called me-told me- or notifid me?
He lives in mass. i am in nyc-moms apt is in nyc-just a few blocks from me but not a word--imeanhe emptied the whole place-8 rooms- out in less than3 months and she isnt even dead !!!
