Besides the laws of your state, there are two other factors. One, it depends on whether you are listed as a joint owner or additional cardholder etc --- whether your name is attached anywhere. For example, were you listed on the application for the credit card or not. If you're not, then it's not your debt -- BUT here's where the second factor comes in, namely estate issues. Even if it's not your debt when he dies it's his ESTATE'S debt, and if there's enough money then his estate has to pay it, and you inherit less as a result (which will feel to you as if you're paying it yourself). Don't just rely on a website like this one. Gather all the information you have about the credit cards and the deed of the trailer and his will, and go talk to a pro.
