Can you give me an idea of how much I would have to pay for a caregiver in my home?

I need someone to stay with my elderly father while I'm at work twice a week 10-12 hour days. The would be preparing two meals sometimes three per day.

What can your father afford? Does he have assests? SS and a pensio? If he is low income with limited assets he may qualify for some in-home assistance.

Hi - I have a non medical in home business in WI; and depending on where you live, the range can be from $18 - $24/hour. for possible locations in your area.

I don't know the area where you live, but I am looking into the cost of having someone in our home from 10 until 4pm, Mon - Fri. and possibly Saturday, too. My husband is unwilling to pay for it, my mother-in-law is unwilling to pay for it - with my husband telling me IF I want assistance, I will have to cover the expense or find a way to pay for it. So far, these assistance places want a lot of money - about $1500 or more a month for part time care. Full time care is $4500 month, depending on the level of care needed. But my mother-in-law can be one mean, evil, nasty mouthed person at times. She feels that she "doesn't need a babysitter" and is just fine being alone. Nope. She can't, not after all that has happened at my house!! The book I could write, lol.

As far as I know, depending on the level of care, it can cost from $20 up. I would call Elder services in the town and they could provide you with information and refer you to the appropriate people. Good luck and take care.
