My father has been involved with an overseas scam for over 5 years. He thinks he is inheriting 9.2 million dollars.

Unfortunately he will not give me power of attorney or any other information ....

Yeah,does your dad live with you? Like McCall said maybe get his mail sent to you or get him a P.O.box for it. If he's using E-mail send him an E-mail yourself pretending to be from his E-mail carrier saying that his E-mail has been jeopardized & he needs to change it, then screen &erase ones you don't want on there before he wakes up or see them. Good Luck. Maybe an agency that deals with Identity Theft can help too!

How old is he. Is he solely in control of his money. Is there power of attorney? I have been dealing with similar schemes with my mother for 10 years. Fortunately, while she was still making good decisions, she signed a power of attorney, put my name on her house and on her bank accounts. That has heed. I have changed her phone number 4 times. Finally, I have had to discontinue her mail service and receive and filter all her mail at my address. The problems initially began with e-mail but NOW her name is in every scam system there is. If he appears to be lucid (barring the bad judgement) legally there is very little you can do. How much information do you have about WHO he is dealing with. Report them to every agency you can. Talk to them yourself. I'm so sorry for your situation. I know how difficult this is. My relationship with my mother is very strained, she blames ME for ruining her financial security.

Im sorry I didnt respond....it all started right after his father passed when he received and inheritance...received an email stating someone was dieing and was leaving him this money...there have been many more he has fallen for also...people putting stollen money in his account, he withdraws it and then wires it to them....its a big mess....thanks for responding.
