My mom always ask me to take her home when she is already at home. She starts to pack clothes and gets made sometimes when we tell her she is already at home.
I know how hard this is for you. It's almost impossible to get someone with dementia to understand reality. My mom is in an assisted living facility, and is convienced she is moved to different locations all the time. She believes they move her, her clothes and furniture. I wish I had the answer for you. I don't but ,I understand.
Take your mother for a short walk down your street then back to the house...she may recognize it and realize she is home. Or take her in the back yard and walk around the front and back yard. Sometimes familiarity will trigger a memory for a person with dementia. Show her pictures from the past, stories from the past that took place in this home. I hope this helps and many HUGS to you!!
