Over the past two years I've lost a good bit of weight. Unfortunately it all started with extreme stress over dealing with some horrible life altering events and I lost my appetite. After the weight started coming off and I got a grip on my problems, I decided to turn it around to a positive for "me". I couldn't control the other issues but I could control my weight problem. I started eating better, started thinking about what i ate, became more active and saw my doctor only to discover I'd done some permanent damage to myself from all that weight. It is never as easy to get it off as it is to put it on. I promise you will feel so much better if you take those baby steps as Veronica suggests. Do it for yourself. It's a gift you give to "you". You are worth it!!
Hard as it may seem the only way is to eat less and more healthy foods. I do not advocate soda usually but I found that a can of diet soda before a meal filled me up and gave me a lift. Just a glass of water hot or cold works too. it takes a while to get used to eating less but your stoachdoes accomodate and then you can have a few of you favorite snacks, preferably low salt. Be disiplined, count them out and put the bag away. If as you say you are very fat, you probably have other health issues and should have guidence from your doctor or a dietition. It's a long road so start with baby steps.
If you burn 500 more calories than you eat every day for a week, you should lose about 1-2 pounds. If you want to lose weight faster, you'll need to eat less and exercise more. For instance, if you take in 1,050 to 1,200 calories a day, and exercise for one hour per day, you could lose 3-5 pounds in the first week, or more if you weigh more than 250 pounds. It's very important not to cut calories any further- that's dangerous. Limiting salt and starches may also mean losing more weight at first - but that's mostly fluids, not fat.
