My wife has moderate dementia and cries. How can I slow this down?

Her crying continues at night. She is very depressed and has nightmares. I would love to know how, as a caregiver, I can slow this down.

ren, I read through some of your things. You and your wife have certainly been going through the hard times. I wish that things could be easier for you. The only suggestion I can make beyond what Jeanne offered is to let your wife know that you are there for her. A hug goes a long way when someone is sad and frightened.

Have you discussed this night crying with the doctor who is treating her dementia? Is she being treated for depression?
