Is being cared for by a familiar doctor important for Alzheimer's patients?
step-sisters want to change doctors mom has been seeing for over 20 years to new doctors which are closer (5 minutes as opposed to 30 minutes) how important is keeping the same doctor?
My MIL with vascular dementia absolutely loves going to her doctor appointments. Moving her here from her home state and away from all of her familiar doctors was just not a problem. She loves seeing the new doctors. She does mention her old doctors as her long term memory is intact.
Each person suffers from dementia issues differently. I wish she doctors that were 5 minutes away, really would help on appointment days to have a shorter drive. We have a 30 minute drive now.
