My mom has rare disease and is home with DNR papers. I am currently on a FMLA leave of absence need help. Really need to know what organization to go to for cash aide my mother's Billy at this time for prescriptions is $500.00 a month.
In addition to the Office of the Aging, if your mother is on Medicaid you may qualify for cash payments as a caregiver. It isn't available in all states but the program is called the Cash and Counseling Program. Check it out and see if you qualify.
I found it very helpful to start by calling my county's Social Services and asking for a needs assessment. The social worker was very familiar with not only the programs the country administers but other community resources as well.
