Looking for facilities to care for a 55 year old son who suffered a serious heart attack and subsequent brain damage due to lack of oxygen.

Actually this happened almost a year and a half ago. We have talked to many people and various agencies. We at first hoped to find something that would offer some hope for improvement. We have been caring for our son at home and find now that not much is available for this age group and so we continue to look for places that could care for him that he can afford. He does not have medicare or medicaid and is not a veteran. We're also looking into daycare or any programs that would be helpful or interesting for him.

Hugs to you - this is sad for someone so young and for you too, of course. I would call social services and see what they recommend - maybe social services at the hospital could help. Take care.
