Don't worry about going to court. If your father deeded you the land, it shouldn't be a problem. The burden of proof is then on the sibling to PROVE that you did something illegal to get the land or that your father wasn't capable of making that decision. The only other thing I can think of that your sibling might claim is some sort of squatters rights, which largely don't exist here in the US anymore. Even then it was mostly about land that wasn't deeded or had been abandoned. Either way, their case will be very hard to show. People worry too much about going to court. If you are within your legal rights and you know it, the judge will most likely see things your way. And frankly, no attorney is going to take your sibling's case without some serious money up front. How much money do you think your sibling is willing to gamble with to take you to court?

Your sibling might actually be doing you a favor by serving you and getting the whole thing started. It gets the ball rolling on having the whole thing settled, and he's stuck with paying the filing fee.

If your name is on the deed I don't see how you can be sued. Why does your sibling think you should not have the land? Your sib needs to remove the mobile home or ask if you want to purchase it. Otherwise you have a legal case to get your sib to remove it off your land. I'm no lawyer but I think you need to talk to one. If your sib sues you, you definitely are going have to get one. I hate when family fights end up in a lawyer's office. I'm involved in an entanglement with my sister and it has caused me stress, heartache and money. My dad is rolling in his grave right about now.
