Mom went into a NH end of March. She is on Medicaid. They just NOW sent a bill for May. What should I do?

I had been told along the way that her Medicaid when she was homebound would pay for the 3 months when she first enters a NH. I have not been working because of her condition and her move, etc. Her money is all gone - used for tolls, moving, gas, extra food in the hospital, private duty aid as I am only caregiver/family.
She has absolutely no money left and I don't either. Does anyone have experience with this? What should I do?
