It seems I have so much paperwork to handle for my mom - especially since she went into Assisted Living - canceling services, address change notifications, selling items, paying bills, etc. Help, I'm drowning in paper!
I feel your pain, katiekat. Another thing I dread is visiting a new doctor. They used to give you a sheet or two to fill out that took about 10 minutes. Now they give you what looks like a book that takes about 30 minutes. Sure will be glad when they get all of the data into a central computer.
Today we received two things from the insurance carriers and one from a pension plan. The words just blah-blahed on the page. All I could think was, "What now?" How did they ever make things so darn complicated?
I have all the things I can set up autopay. It's a relief to know I can change things just by getting online. I wish all of these things were set up that way. We have so little time that we don't need to spend hours wading through paper. Personally I have formed a bad case of attention deficit for anything written on a piece of paper. Long letters and long forms -- scream!
mom and i recently had a carer agreement drafted up by an attorney. my duties range from serving homecooked meals at the dinner table to lawn care, housekeeping, bill paying, nurturing mothers social contacts, doc visits, laundry, shopping, medicines, and a bunch of excetera.. when im not doing all this im supposed to be keeping a caregiving log. bet the log doesnt transpire. excessive paperwork aint my bag.. anyway, relinquish the bill paying to automatic withdrawals. makes life much easier and in three years of it ive seen no mistakes or fraudulent billings. screw paperwork. its an american phenomenon designed to create nonproductive jobs out of thin air.
