My Mom (81) just informed that her kidneys are functioning at 27%. What are her treatment options?

As others have said the Dr is the person to answer these questions. A lot will depend on the cause of the kidney failure and her general health. With the small amount of information we have dialysis may be an option. I would caution that it will be very exhausting for an 88 year old if she had to travel to a distant location and then spend several hours getting the treatment. Dialysis does not work for ever so the inevitable has to be faced now or at a time to be determined. The end will be the same. if she is comfortable now is it worth prolonging her life and giving her extra time but not necessarily much quality of life. If she is capable any options should be put to her and not sugar coated so she can make her own decision.

My mom is 77 and has been on dialysis for 3 years. They asked her when she first started if she wanted to be placed on the transplant list, she said no, now they consider her to old, I want to give her one of mine.

prodad, sorry to read about your mother. I don't know if caregivers could suggest treatment options for such a potentially serious condition. What did the doctor recommend? Is there a reason that her kidneys are failing that can be corrected? I would follow her doctor's recommendations about this.
