Mom's 88 with dementia. Lately, her appetite has decreased.
She eats the food, but balls it up in her mouth and puts it in a napkin. I also found my dear. Other pulling her bowels out, she is only on 100 mg of colace, I guess I will have to increase the dosage.
Neither situation is uncommon. I've seen a number dementia patients digging in their protective pads - just being curious. If she is truly not eating enough, you may want to talk with the doctor about a seeing a professional nutritionist for ideas.
