How can I get people to stop asking me for some of my Disabled Pay when I barely have enough to pay my bills and get very little groceries?

The VA has reduced my Disabled Pay and collectors are hounding me. The Social Service is jumping all over me for arrearages on Child Support and they don't believe me when I tell them that my pay has been cut. I live on $1 soups (Ramen Noodles).

Oh, and about the collectors, if you can't pay, Perserverence gave the best advice. Bankruptcy doesn't work for child support, though. You'll need to renegotiate there.

Child support comes first. Try to work something out with the ex and courts that you can afford to pay. I know some support awards are higher than others.

There are many options that can help pull you through. For example, you can find a roommate to help share the costs. You can supplement your disability with money from tasks that you can perform. For example, a friend of mine makes artisan jewelry and sells some on Etsy to help supplement her disability.

If anyone who is just borrowing or mooching comes to you for money, just say no. This does not include your children, who rank as high as you do when it comes to your money. They are your legacy, so make sure they are cared for.
