Where do I start to get financial help and guidance in lower living costs?
I support & care for my father 100%, he refuses to live elsewhere. Rent is to high, where can I find a cheaper home &/or how or where do I apply to get financial help for elder assistant? don't know where to begin.
Many non-profit counseling centers offer free or sliding scale financial counseling. You can call your local social services for a referral if you don't find one in the phone book. Look for a non-profit agency and ask questions to make sure this is legitimate counseling and advice that won't cost you money you don't know you are spending. Good luck, Carol
Sorry submitted too fast. He lived very high rent apartments for over $1900 in San Diego... But now only $800 (when moved in $725) for the space!! We love this place , it' s so quiet and very affordable for both of us. This is just suggestion...your dad might not like it.....but you could talk to him.
