I've been taking care of my mother-in-law for 3 years while I was going to school. Why doesn't she want to pay me?

Yes, your husband should be making arrangements for her care if he isn't going to do it himself. If you volunteer from the kindness of your heart then that's ok, but if you're not really wanting to do this then help needs to be outsourced.

I agree with Aishamama!!!! Jump ship now!! I asked about your spouse because "where" are he\she? Do they take care of their parent?

How about your mother-in-law pays someone else to be her caregiver and you go live your life? Don't feel obligated to look after her if it's not something you want to do for her.

How does your spouse feel about you being paid?
