Blood pressure 163 / 99. Do I call ambulance?

Do I call ambulance?

As stated above; I would definitely schedule a doctor visit - that is high blood pressure. Mine has been that high requiring medication and monitoring. I would not waste time in checking it out. Take care

most, if not all insurances have a 24/7 advice nurse line (they sometimes call it by a different name) whose main task is to get enough clinical information from the patient to advise if it's appropriate to go to urgent care, the ER, or to schedule an appointment with your primary care physician. call them. btw, when mom was at the SNFs, she had systolic readings in the 170s and 180s.

I don't know if I'd necessary call an ambulance, but I'd get the person in for a check up. My blood pressure was higher than that last time I went to the doc. If the person is having a hard time breathing or there are other alarming symptoms then yeah, but otherwise they probably just need a healthier life style. Make an appointment for a check up.. Can you give more details? Does the person seem to be in distress or are they acting normally?
