Has anyone read anything about caffeine and delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease?

The articles that I have found are from around 2006, so I'm not sure that there is any validity to them. Also, what do you all think about the newer information regarding Vitamin E or fish oil and Alzheimer's? I wish there was something out there that would help, but highly doubt that there is. I would love to hear your input!

I take any of these articles with a grain of salt most of the time. My Dad drank regular coffee his entire life, sometimes a pot a day at home and who knows how much at work since he worked nights for many years. He was diagnosed at age 76 and, looking back, showed signs for years prior to that. So I don't think caffeinated coffee helped delay his dementia! As for Vitamin E and Fish Oil -- for years and years doctors have been going back and forth on these two. First Fish Oil was great for you and everyone was told to take it. Now not so much. Some say it can even be bad for you. I don't know about Vitamin E. I think its one of those that if you eat the right foods, you don't need to worry about it. I, too, wish there was a "magic pill" for this disease, but I think a lot of it probably has to do with the natural aging process and the fact that people are living longer.

The memory care where my mother-in-law lives only gives her decaf . When I told them she always drinks regular coffee since it seems to make her more alert, they told me that caffeine seems to cause more agitation so they don't use it.

Here's a more recent article that talks about caffeine in moderation may enhance memory.
