Does anyone in Birmingham, AL know where I can find a caregiver support group?

I have shared life with my 95-year old mother for the past 20-something years and was her primary caregiver for the last two years before having to place her in a nursing home last November. I have a sibling, she was never too helpful and seemed to resent what I did for my mom. She was always quick to find fault with the decisions I've made, how I took care of mom, etc.

Is there any such thing as a weekly support group for children caregivers of aging parents? I am 60 years old and find myself in the position of caring for my 85 year old mothers. She is not in good health and is needy. I need some sort of emotional support for this task or else it will drive me crazy. Any advice would be appreciated.

Dawson Memorial Baptist Church on Oxmoor Dr in Homewood has a support group meeting one Thursday night a month. I think it is the 3rd Sunday. I thought about attending, but it was at my mother's dinnertime. I don't know why they make the meeting so early.

Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama has a list of support groups for caregivers on their web site:http://www.alzca.org/support.html

Collat Jewish Family Services has an open to the public caregiver support group that meets once a month (third Wednesday of the month I think).

UAB, VA, Brookwood and St. Vincent’s Hospitals all have (or at least used to have) various caregiver support groups depending on the diagnosis of the care receiver.
